Instrumentation and applications

FTIR Nicolet 6700 and Continuum Microscope System

Applications: analyze liquids, solids, semi-solids, powders, quantitative and qualitative surface analysis/depth profiling, coatings on non-reflecting substrates, inclusions in resins, polymers and rubber materials, microelectronics, forensics, defect analysis, residuals inside depressions, contaminants on reflective surfaces, lubricants on hard disks, coating imperfection on metallic surfaces measurements, polymer films, packaging materials.

Kruss Easy Drop Contact Angle

Applications: surface chemistry measurements, hydrophobic/hydrophilic surface studies, sessile drop experimental studies, advancing/receding experimental studies.

Gaertner-Stoke Ellipsometer

Applications: Measurements of surface thickness of thin films and monolayers on substrates.

HP1100 HPLC and PL-ELS-2100 Ice Evaporative Light Scattering Doctor (ELSD)

Applications: HP1100 preparative and analytical HPLC systems can separate, identify, and quantify compounds using reverse phase or normal phase methods; with ELSD: analyze non-UV absorbing compounds with PL-ELS-2100 Ice, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, carbohydrates, lipids, phospholipids, triglycerides, fatty acids, amino acids, polymers, and surfactants.

SPR-B12000 with Liquid and Gas Flow Cells

Applications: two channel SPR detection unit with differential detection electronics for high sensitivity and fast detection, broad detection range for measuring SPR binding in liquid and gas mediums.

Varian Cary 300 UV/VIS Spectrophotometer

Applications: Varian’s Cary 300 has a premonochromator, spectrophotomers also extending its range past 5.0 absorbance units (Abs). IR used to analyze biological or highly absorbing laboratory samples.

Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)

Applications: imaging of biochemical, material science, nanotechnology materials in different modes: tapping, contact, and non-contact.

Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM)

Applications: powerful instrument for imaging surfaces at the atomic level.
