Administrative Specialist (85641BR)

The ASU Knowledge Enterprise is seeking a motivated and proactive Administrative Specialist to join the Biodesign Administrative Support Operations team. As the administrative specialist, you would perform fast paced administrative work unique to the various centers within the Biodesign Institute and administration. In this position, you will work closely with Center Directors and research faculty regarding scheduling meetings, monitoring calendars, assisting with travel, and supporting day-to-day operational activities. This position advances strategic initiatives by connecting center-level operations with a core network of administrators to carry out programs and projects, events, and key onboarding tasks within the Knowledge Enterprise. You will work within a team of administrators dedicated to advancing the Institute under administrative leadership and the Biodesign Executive Office.

Research Lab Coordinator Sr., BSCEB & HTM (85588BR)

The Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology is seeking an organized, communicative, team-oriented individual to promote the success of our researchers and missions. Under the guidance of Center Directors Bruce Rittmann and Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown, our Research Laboratory Coordinator Sr. will oversee operational activities for two research centers: The Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology (SCEB) and the Biodesign Center for Health Through Microbiomes (HTM); both are primarily situated within the Biodesign Institute. This position includes direct responsibility for assisting SCEB faculty (Hinsby Cadillo-Quiroz, Anca Delgado, Yen-Jung Lai, Bruce Rittmann, César Torres, and Chen Zhou), HTM faculty (James Adams, Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown, Taichi Suzuki, Lee Voth-Gaeddert, and Corrie Whisner), and their laboratory personnel with the utmost attention to service and cooperation.

Undergraduate Research Volunteer

The Halden lab within the Biodesign Center for Environmental Health Engineering is seeking an undergraduate volunteer. The opportunity is to research areas including the analysis of human exposure to nano-/micro-plastics and the application of wastewater-based epidemiology to study population-level health, including but not limited to: substance use (licit/illicit), exposure to potentially harmful chemicals, communicable diseases, etc. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and able to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Initial projects will include the review and synthesis of existing literature, as well as wet lab work consistent with the applicant’s level of experience. This position involves interdisciplinary research and would be appropriate for students with an interest in chemistry, biochemistry, biological sciences and/or engineering, though students from other majors are welcome to apply.  This position involves 10+ hours/week of work.
