Assistant Research Professor, Biodesign Center for Molecular Design and Biomimetics
Xiaodong Qi received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Arizona State University and his B.S. in Biological Sciences from Peking University in China. His Ph.D. research focused on telomerase function and mechanism as well as telomerase RNA biogenesis.
Xiaodong is currently an assistant research professor in the Biodesign Institute. As a member of the Center for Molecular Design and Biomimetics, his current research is focused on the biological applications of functional DNA/RNA origami nanostructures. With the great advances of nucleic acid nanotechnologies, he is currently working on drug delivery with smart DNA nanorobots and cancer immunotherapy based on single-stranded RNA origami nanostructures.
