S. Eileen Seo

Assistant Professor, Biodesign Center for Sustainable Macromolecular Materials and Manufacturing

Eileen Seo is an expert in nanotechnology and 3D printing. Her research focuses on the development of new synthetic methods to control polymer architecture, composition and function and design hierarchical and multifunctional materials.

Seo has developed photocurable resins for 3D printing thermally activated polymer foams with control over pore size, volume fraction and macroscopic architecture.

Prior to joining ASU, Seo was a postdoctoral fellow in materials at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

After earning her bachelor's from the University of California, Berkely in chemical biology, Seo earned her doctorate in chemistry from Northwestern University.
