Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) is a devastating, rare childhood cancer whose cause is unknown and has a 5-year survival rate of less than 20%. In collaboration with Dr. Pooja Hingorani at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, was awarded one of the Hyundai Hope on Wheels grants to study this rare malignancy. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is a non-profit organization committed to the fight against pediatric cancer. As one of several dozen grants awarded nationally, this project will use next generation sequencing to better understand the cause of Desmoplastic small-round-cell tumor and perhaps identify targets for treatment.
