Mehdi Nikkhah is an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. His laboratory is currently focused on the integration of innovative biomaterial and microscale technologies to create biomimetic model tissue constructs for regenerative medicine  and disease modeling applications. He has published more than 60 journal articles, seven book chapters and 75 peer-reviewed conference papers (~5000 citations, H-index of 35, Dec 2019), and holds numerous invention disclosures and three issued U.S. patent. He has also presented several invited talks in national and international conferences and received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions during his career including most recently a Young Investigator Award from the American Chemical Society (ACS), Division of Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2017.
