Jason Steel is the Director of the KE Biosciences Core. He was trained as a molecular biologist at Johns Hopkins University as a member of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Jason has over 12 years of sales and project management experience with companies such as Silicon Genetics and Agencourt Bioscience.
Jasons research experience includes identification and characterization of novel photoreceptor specific genes and cloning and characterization of peroxisomal membrane proteins. Jason joined ASU and Josh Labaers lab in 2009 and developed the high throughput cloning pipeline for the NIHs Protein Structure Initiative, and later built the Genomics core and Mass Spectrometry core before taking the role as the Director of the Biosciences Core.
