Expect the unexpected as you step inside the Biodesign Institute. Glimpse how innovations may change the future.

With more than 30 games and awe-inspiring activities, you can race molecules, build viruses, play “poop detective” and put on a spacesuit to conduct an experiment aboard the International Space Station. Kids can watch STEM careers in action and adults will see how Biodesign research is improving health, protecting lives and sustaining our planet.

Experience AfterGlow, a landscape locked in perpetual twilight becomes illuminated by glowing trails evocative of mosquito flightpaths. This art installation by boredomresearch is a collaboration between Southampton UK-based artists Vicky Isley and Paul Smith.

At Night of the Open Door, thrill seekers, lifelong learners, science gurus and art enthusiasts can experience what happens at the most innovative university in the nation.
