Precision medicine promises to deliver new drugs tailored to patient’s peculiar needs based upon analyses of multimodal OMICs information. We will discuss patient-inspired experimental insights leading to the identification of Runx1 transcription factor as a novel therapeutic target for blinding conditions characterized by aberrant angiogenesis, and Notch 3 signaling as a therapeutic target for an inherited cause of stroke and vascular cognitive impairment and dementia.
