A picnic lunch on May 27 was a gesture of thanks for the construction workers’ dedication to building the Biodesign Institute, formerly named Arizona
Biodesign Institute. The event was organized and paid for by Researcher and Professor Colleen Brophy and the researchers in the Center for Protein and Peptide Therapeutics. With more than 400 workers in attendance, Brophy expressed her gratitude, while researchers served up sub sandwiches, chips, soda and candy bars.
“This is very out of the ordinary,” said Marc Diaz, apprentice for Performance Contractors Inc." Sometimes contractors will buy us lunch, but clients showing you how much they appreciate you is truly a great gesture.”
