Assistant Research Professor, Biodesign Center for Bioelectronics and Biosensors
Fenni Zhang received her doctorate in electrical engineering from Arizona State University and her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in biomedical engineering from Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China). Her doctoral research focused on the development of cell-based optical biosensor and bioinstrumentation for biomedical applications, including tools for accelerating drug discovery and improving clinical diagnosis.
Zhang is an assistant research professor in Biodesign Institute. As a member of the Biodesign Center for Bioelectronics and Biosensors, her research focuses on the development of novel optical biosensor platform which enables direct raw sample imaging with single-cell resolution, multiplex detection and portability. The platform will be used to address practical problems in biomedical applications, such as label-free biomarker detection for early disease diagnosis, cell imaging and sorting in raw sample and pathogen detection and drug susceptibility testing.
