Assistant Research Professor, Biodesign Center for Molecular Design and Biomimetics
Fei Zhang received her Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Arizona State Universtiy and her B.S. in Chemistry and Molecular Engineering from Peking University. Her primary research have focused on designing nucleic-acid nanostructures with increasing complexity and precision, constructing dynamic DNA devices with programmable behaviors, and ultimately rebuilding synthetic biochemical molecular systems that approach the complexity and sophistication that nature exhibits.
As a member of the Center for Molecular Design and Biomimetics, Fei will dedicate to understanding how biological molecular building blocks self-assemble into nanoarchitectures with structural complexity and functional diversity, elucidating the molecular interactions and mechanisms of assembly exhibit in nature, and focusing on structural DNA and RNA nanotechnology especially for establishing a diverse set of fundamental design principles for various architectures.
