The Biodesign Institute, Research Operations
Pam Mulhearn is the director of Research Operations at Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute. As director, she oversees all financial and business administrative departments and activities of the Institute, including: Finance & Budgeting, Business Services, Human Resources and Research Administration. She leads a staff of more than twenty dedicated individuals responsible for all day-to-day aspects of business operations and research administration as well as the overall strategic business growth of Biodesign.
Her professional career includes more than twenty years of financial and business-related experience in both academia and the private sector. Prior to her appointment as director, Mulhearn served for six years as associate director of Finance Services at Biodesign, overseeing the Institute’s financial plan as well as the development and review of all research centers’ and administrative budgets.
Before her focus at Biodesign, Mulhearn served ASU for twelve years managing business operations and accounting for the Office of Vice President for Research & Economic Affairs (now OKED), the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and ASU Financial Services. She is member of the University Management Team and has also served as president of the Classified Staff Council.
Mulhearn holds a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from Montclair State University.
