Bio
Cathy Cormier is the scientific liaison for the Protein Structure Initiative Material
Repository (PSI-MR) and the DNASU plasmid repository. She
received her undergraduate degree from Boston University studying
biochemistry and molecular biology. She attended graduate school at
the Watson School of Biological Sciences at Cold Spring Harbor
Laboratory (CSHL). Her thesis research in Dr. Yuri Lazebnik's
laboratory, focused on using RNAi technology to identify and
characterize a rearranged apoptotic pathway in chemotherapy treated
prostate cancer cells. After graduating, she joined Dr. Patrick
Paddison's laboratory at CSHL, where her research focused on
optimizing and using RNAi libraries to screen for genes that are
required for differentiation in mouse embryonic stem cells. In 2007,
she joined the Harvard Institute of Proteomics (HIP) at Harvard
Medical School as the scientific liaison of the PlasmID repository and
PSI Material Repository. She recently moved with Dr. LaBaer's group to
the CDP where she will continue as the scientific liaison for the repository.
